A great time was had by all who attended the first Keweenaw Wilderness Expo for the Michigan Outdoor Writers Association gathering at the Keweenaw Mountain Lodge, in Copper Harbor MI, on Friday, June 1st, 2012.
There were 36 businesses from Keweenaw County that took part in the event to showcase the Keweenaw area and what there is to offer visitors. The different businesses offered informational brochures and flyers on vacation accommodation rentals , recreational activities, restaurants, sightseeing tours and local historical parks. There were also businesses exhibiting their local professional services such as photography, event rentals for weddings and parties and wellness services. The Michigan Outdoor Writers Association attendees walked away with a plethora of knowledge for writing about the Keweenaw Peninsula and what there is to do and see.

It was very interesting. Hopefully, the success of this event will mean more in the future. The Conference Center at the Mountain Lodge is a great place to host events.
